Arleigh is the UK’s leading aftermarket distributor of parts and accessories to the static & touring caravan, motorhome and marine sectors.
Selling predominantly to a trade customer base, the group supplies an unparalleled range of product lines that include LPG appliances and spares, lighting, electrical fittings, plumbing supplies, kitchen equipment, siting equipment, awnings, safety equipment and consumables.
The extensive product range, stock availability and in-depth product knowledge means that the group can offer its customers exceptional service, shortened lead times and immediate access to business-critical products.
The Arleigh group has built an enviable and diverse customer base which includes major UK and European holiday parks, independent park operators, manufacturers and dealers, maintenance engineers, plumbers, refurbishment specialists and boat builders.
The group serves each of its chosen markets through distinct and well-recognised brands and has developed a specialist knowledge base and strategic alliances with leading manufacturers.
Operating from a central UK distribution facility of over 78,000 sq. ft, the group supplies its customers throughout the UK and has a growing presence in Western Europe.
Following further investment, the latest warehouse extension has been completed. The addition of this new 12,800 sq. ft purpose-built facility brings the total head office space to over 78,000 sq. ft including upper-level offices and mezzanine. This extended space is now home to an extensive and ever-growing range of Fiamma products, while larger products including appliances, stoves and bike racks are spread across the existing warehouse. This reorganisation of stock has once again enabled the group to further streamline the distribution and logistics operation.
For over 45 years Arleigh Group has been supplying the holiday home and static caravan industry with the largest range of appliances, accessories and spare parts in Europe.
Originally based in Compstall Mills, the business first commenced trading in 1969 under the name of its founder Ronald Lea and specialised in the supply of caravan equipment.
This original business was acquired by Caverdale PLC in 1997, which in the same year also acquired Marine Mart, a business founded and owned by Alastair Thomas.
Marine Mart, which supplied the inland waterways market with consumables and spares, was subsequently integrated with Arleigh Group, with Alastair Thomas taking responsibility for the operation of this enlarged business.
During 1998, Firstserve Group, (the subsidiary of Caverdale PLC that owned Arleigh), was acquired by its divisional management team as part of an MBO in 2004.
Alastair Thomas led the MBO of Arleigh from Firstserve Group, after which Arleigh grew substantially through both a successful organic growth strategy and the integration of four strategic acquisitions over the next 12 years.
In 2016 the Arleigh Group was acquired by a subsidiary of LKQ Corporation, a NASDAQ listed Fortune 500 company, best known in the UK through their ownership of Euro Car Parts.
In 2006 Arleigh acquired Midland Chandlers, a complementary inland waterways business, which enabled Arleigh to increase its service offering and expanding its product range as well as giving access to new customers through a chain of retail stores.
Since the acquisition of Midland Chandlers, group revenues from the inland waterways market have more than trebled.
Nova Leisure was acquired in 2011. The acquisition bolstered Arleigh Group’s position in the motorhome market, and provided access to a new range of customers and products, including Fiamma awnings.
Fiamma awnings are widely regarded as the leading product in the market, with a 30 year market-leading presence in the UK. The acquisition gave Arleigh Group the opportunity to become the UK’s premier wholesaler.
The position was strengthened in 2013 when the group completed the acquisition of Unipart Leisure’s motorhome business.
Already the market leader in Fiamma, this acquisition enabled Arleigh Group to significantly increase its sales of Fiamma products and together with further investment in the technical sales team, secured a truly commanding position in the UK market.
Arleigh became part of the LKQ corporation in 2016 and since then the acquisitions have continued, alongside strong organic growth in all segments.
ASAP Supplies were acquired in 2017. Located in East Anglia, the business specialises in technical components for commercial marine applications. Ideally located for the commercial marine segment in this region, but also selling nationally.
Aquafax, acquired in 2018 is the UK’s largest marine distributor, supplying a wide range of technical products to marine retailers, installers and OEMs. Headquartered at the primary distribution hub in Luton, supported by 4 trade-counter and stocking sites in strategic marine areas including Plymouth and The Hamble.
